Apparently unsure of safety of lives and property in the city of Kano, the Nigeria Premier League board has postponed indefinitely the Week Five fixture between Kano Pillars and Enyimba International.
The match originally scheduled to hold this weekend inside the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, will not hold due to security threat.
An official of the NPL, who sought for anonymity, told The Eagle Online that the match will hold when the security situation in the city improves.
“In view of the recent multiple bombing in Kano, this weekend’s match between Kano Pillars and Enyimba has been suspended until when normalcy returns,” said our source.
The Eagle Online gathered further that the management of the Kano-based side may be forced to look for alternative venue for its subsequent matches.
