Former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), has said the activities of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, has killed the economy and night life of the North.
Abubakar, who spoke on Tuesday, said: “The activities of the Boko Haram sect are destroying the economy of the north’’.
He spoke at the inauguration of members of the Ibrahim Babangida University Lapai Endowment Fund at the Government House, Minna, the Niger State capital.
He said owing to the activities of the dreaded sect in some parts of the North, night business activities, which used to be the big part of the region’s economy, had been destroyed.
He appealed for calm and suggested dialogue as a way out.
