Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, has called on newly-promoted military officers to re-dedicate themselves to duty to totally eradicate the Boko Haram insurgency.
Attahiru made the call during the investiture of two newly promoted senior officers of the command on Saturday in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
He said a number of military officers engaged in the war against insurgency in the theatre of operation had been promoted in view of their gallantry and outstanding performances.
He said: “It has been a bumper harvest for the Theatre Command.
“The promotions are done in appreciation of your contributions to the success of the war against insurgency.
“I urge you to remain focused and do the right thing; the sky is your limit.”
Attahiru urged the officers to understand that their new positions called for more dedication and accountability.
The newly promoted officers are: Colonel Chijioke Onwunle, who was promoted to the rank of a Brigadier General, and Captain Alexander Bingel, promoted to the rank of Navy Commodore.
