Dreaded sect, Boko Haram, again on Saturday attacked a police station in Kano State.
The attack on Mandawari Police Station left at least five persons dead, with one of them being a police constable.
The rest were members of the Boko Haram sect.
They died in a shootout duting the attack on the police station.
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, Ibrahim Idris, said the gunmen met stiff resistance as they were confronted with superior fire power exhibited by his men.
Idris said: “When we got wind of the attack at Mandawari in the ancient city, we immediately mobilised and in the attack, we lost an officer, a constable.”
