German football federation director, Oliver Bierhoff on Tuesday, said he was not interested in replacing Reinhard Grindel as president.
“I will rule it out now,” the former striker said prior to the German women’s team friendly with Japan. “I have an exciting role, it’s unbelievably great, near the pitch, near the teams.
He added: “And we still have a lot ahead of us with the senior and junior teams.”
Grindel stepped down last week after admitting he had received a 6,000-euro (6,700-dollar) watch as a gift from the former head of the Ukrainian football association.
The 50-year-old Bierhoff has worked with the DFB, initially as national team manager, since 2004.
