Joe Nyah, a Peoples Democratic Party scribe in Benue, has admitted that the greatest problem confronting the administration of Governor Samuel Ortom is insecurity.
Joe Nyah spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria on the sidelines of the ongoing Women’s Presidential Rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
Nyah said that non-payment of salaries was not the major problem confronting the state.
He said that what was of utmost priority to Benue people was to have a secure place to live before thinking of salaries.
He said: “The issues we have now are beyond salaries, we are now thinking of how we are going to live. We are not even sure of where we are going to be tomorrow, so with all the money in the bank and you are not sure of where you are going to be, how will that help you.”
He regretted that majority of Nigerians were allowing primordial sentiments to govern their voting choices during elections.
The scribe claimed that the PDP performed extremely well at all levels in 2015, the people were deceived to vote for the All Progressive Congress because of their northern primordial sentiments.
He claimed that Atiku Abubakar was not a secluded Nigerian, “he is a true Nigerian with wives from the North, West and South East”.
Also in an interview, George Ali, Chairman, Otukpo Local Government Area, said very few Nigerians were benefiting from the APC-led administration.
Ali said that Benue people especially those from Benue South Senatorial District, were warming up to vote massively for the PDP candidates.
