The All Progressives Congress has taken the lead in the govern worship election held in Bayelsa State on Saturday.
As at press time on Sunday, the APC was firmly in the lead in seven out of the eight local government in the states.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, Vice-chancellor, University of Benin, announced the results.
According to Orumwense, in Ogbia, APC polled 58,016 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party that got 13,763 votes.
APC also won in Brass, Nembe and Yenagoa local government areas.
