Bayelsa governorship election: So far, so good – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the governorship election in Bayelsa State so far.
INEC said the election, which registration segment has just ended, has recorded no incident to warrant any feeling or thinking to the contrary.

Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary of the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, who spoke with The Eagle Online on the election, said there was no cause for alarm over the conduct of the election.
Idowu said accreditation for the election, which just ended when The Eagle Online called him on the telephone, had gone on smoothly that it leaves no room for any fear that the rest of the process will run smoothly.
He told The Eagle Online: “The accreditation has been peaceful and orderly.
“Voting is just about to start.
“We have had very few incidents.
“So, we are satisfied so far.
“There is no incident to make us feel otherwise.
“Voting is just about starting.
“But it has been peaceful, orderly and smooth so far.”
