The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Maikanti Baru, was on Friday sighted in the Office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Baru showed up in Osinbajo’s office in the Presidential Villa a few hours after the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, concluded a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kachikwu had in a letter to Buhari accused Baru of unilaterally running the Board of the NNPC.
The Minister said Baru made appointments that were not cleared with him and the Board and also contracts to the tune of $25 billion.
However, it could not be confirmed if Baru had a formal meeting with Osinbajo.
