A 52-year-old staff of a first generation bank, Bravo Kunde, has killed his mother.
Kunde, who used a machete to commit the heinous crime, works at the Jos, Plateau State branch of the first generation bank.
He killed his mother in Jos in the wee hours of Thursday.
The mother, simply identified as Mama Yakubu and said to be about 80 years, was seen with machete cuts on her head.
One Baba Nati, a relation who was among crowd that thronged the scene of the event in Jenta Mangoro, Jos North Local Government Area, told The Eagle Online that they heard shouts in the house at about 6am on Thursday.
Mama Yakubu was said to have shouted continuously for help.
However, before they could get there, the old woman was already lying in the pool of her blood.
Relations, in a fit of rage, tied up Bravo and beat him to coma.
There was no official report from the police as at the time of filing this report as the leader of the community was said to be on his way to the A Division of the Plateau State Command to report the incident.
The family member, Moses Yakubu, who Identified Bravo as the head of the family, told The Eagle Online that his elder brother was reported to have been roaming about carelessly the previous night, but when they rushed home to find out what was his problem, he (Bravo) had already left for work.
According to him, Bravo engages in excessive drinking and smoking, which was said to have led to mental illness.
“He has been doing strange things, but this is the worst part he has performed,” Yakubu said.
