Bangladesh on Monday announced the closure of all educational institutions for 15 days after three more Coronavirus cases were reported in the South Asian country.
The Deputy Minister for Education, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, told reporters in Dhaka that the closures will begin on Wednesday as Tuesday is a public holiday.
The measure is effective until March 31.
With the three more cases, Bangladesh now has a total of eight infected patients, said Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of the country’s state-run Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.
Flora added that two children were among the new patients who tested positive and are family member of a previously infected person.
Bangladesh detected the first three cases of Coronavirus on March 8.
