Real Madrid’s megastar, Cristiano Ronaldo, and manager, Jose Mourinho, were both sent off as the Spanish giants surprisingly lost an incident-packed Copa Del Rey final to neighbours, Atletico Madrid.
The drama didn’t end there either, with the match also seeing another player dismissed, a goalkeeper apparently felled by an object thrown from the crowd and a mass touchline brawl.
Mourinho, set to leave Real at the end of the season and rejoin Chelsea, was the first to get his marching orders after barking at the officials.
The match went into extra time at 1-1 after goals from Ronaldo and Diego Costa, where Atletico took the lead as centre-back Miranda headed in.
Then, with six minutes to play, it was Ronaldo’s turn.
His dismissal sparked furious scenes on the touchline, with both benches emptying and several seconds of pushing and shoving, some punches also seemingly thrown.
Atletico keeper, Thibault Courtois, who is on loan from Chelsea, dropped to the ground in his penalty area, with missiles seen to be flying from the supporters behind him.
In the dying seconds, Gabi was also sent off, but Atletico held on to win, 2-1.
