Former Vice President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday took a jibe at President Muhammadu Buhari over what was considered a mathematical error during a question and answer session in the United States of America in 2015.
President Buhari had in answer to a question on how he will ensure equity in the Nation, especially as it concerns the Niger Delta, said he cannot treat constituencies that gave him 97 per cent of votes equally as ones that gave him 5 per cent (video below).
This was summed up to be over 100 per cent, which is the maximum score in a contest or quiz.
In his speech on Saturday at the National Convention of the PDP in Abuja, Abubakar, who reeled out what he said were the failures of Buhari’s All Progressives Congress Government, said: “And we also know that 5% and 97% do not add up to 100%.”
He also catalogued the achievements of the PDP government in which he served for eight years as vice president and how the party can return the country to winning ways.
He added: “Under the APC Nigeria is now more divided and acrimonious than at any time since the civil war.”
The full speech of the former vice president is published elsewhere on this news website.
