A former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated the Governor-elect of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke.
Imoke was pronounced the governor-elect of the state today by the Independent National electoral Commission following his emergence as the candidate with the highest number of votes in the election.
Abubakar said in a short statement by his media team that Imoke’s reemergence as governor with a resounging and convincing margin is a mandate to continue leading Cross Rivers State in the direction he has led his people in the last four years.
Imoke, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, to which Abubakar also belongs, served his first term between 2007 and 2011.
Abubakar added: “Liyel is a performer.
“I know he won’t fail the party and the people.”
