Eight months after their election, the inaugural board meeting of the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation is finally scheduled to hold on February 15, 2012.
The boardroom of the Nigeria Olympic Committee at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos is the venue.
This was made public through a notice for the board meeting circulated to all elected board members of the Federation by the National Sports Commission’s Rugby Secretary, Adeniyi Beyioku.
It is recalled that the inaugural board meeting, which ought to have been held immediately after the inauguration in July last year, was allegedly postponed by the Rugby President, Dr. Richard Ajayi, to September 2011.
Thereafter, the said board meeting suffered three more postponements, and is finally going to hold on Wednesday, barring any other development.
In a related development, Nigeria has been listed for the Confederation of African Rugby’s 2012 Rugby Season programmes starting with the National Males 15-A-Side featuring in the CAR Division 1C, which will be played in Botswana between the July 22 and 29 alongside Cameroon, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Mauritius and host Botswana.
The Nigerian National Male 7’s team is also listed in a tournament in Morocco from 27-29 September alongside Tunisia , Ivory Coast , Namibia , Madagascar , Zimbabwe , Zambia & host Morocco.
