Aston Villa have announced the signing of Ghana international striker Jordan Ayew from Ligue 1 side Lorient.
The 23-year-old completed his medical on Monday morning after both clubs agreed a five-year deal for a fee reported to be around £9m.
“I’m really pleased to bring Jordan to the football club,” Villa manager Tim Sherwood told the club’s official website. “He is a fantastic young player who is perfectly suited to the Premier League.”
Former Marseille forward Ayew scored 13 goals in 33 appearances for Lorient after signing last year, and arrives at Villa Park following the departure of last season’s top scorer Christian Benteke.
