Nigerian striker, Emmanuel Emenike, is close to joining English Premier giants, Arsenal, as the Gunners are readying a N4 billion deal (£15 million) bid for the Fenerbahce striker.
The Nigerian international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League for the best part of two years and has been a moderate success in Turkey, but one wonders why Arsene Wenger would feel the need to target the former Spartak Moscow man.
Emenike scored 12 goals in 28 matches last season and picked up nine assists but given that both Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are nearing returns from respective injuries, there seems little reason to bring in another forward, let alone one with very little top league experience.
Wenger appears keen on Emenike despite investing over £50 million in Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez.
