Former Premier League champions, Arsenal and Dutch football giants, Ajax Amsterdam celebrated African legend Nwankwo as he turned 46 on Monday.
“Wishing you a very happy birthday, Kanu!,” Arsenal tweeted.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also joined in celebrating goal poacher. “Happy birthday to the legendary @papilokanu. We wish you all the best today and always. #soarsupereagles.”
Ajax Amsterdam of Holland also remembered the goal banger and wished him many happy returns of the day.
“Enjoy your birthday, @PapiloKanu!,” Ajax stated.
Kanu also played for Iwuanyanwu Nationale, , Inter Milan of Italy, West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth.
Kanu won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup medals and two African Player of the Year awards amongst others.
He is one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and an Olympic Gold Medal.
