The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Thursday said it trained 205 of its men on arms handling.
The Jigawa State Commandant of the corps, Alhaji Gidado Fari, told newsmen in Katsina shortly after the graduation of the men, that they were trained by the 35 Battalion of the Nigerian Army at the NSCDC College of Peace, Conflict Resolution and Disaster Management, Katsina.
The commandant said only one female member of the corps, Jamila Adamu, was among the trainees that participated in the programme.
He said that more female members from the state command would be included in the next batch of the training.
He said the training would prepare them ahead of how to handle and manage arms and also enhance their ability in addressing security challenges.
The commandant expressed satisfaction with the performance of the trainees, and applauded the battalion and the college for making the training a reality.
Fari also thanked Jigawa and Katsina State Governments for their support in the programme.
