The Nigerian Army has totally restricted vehicular movements during the New Year and Eid-Mouloud celebrations.
The Federal Government has declare January 1 and 2, 2015 as public holidays to commemorate the New Year Eid-el Moulud.
Owing to this, the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army has imposed a total ban on vehicular movement within its area of responsibility from 6am on January 1, 2015 to6pm January 2, 2015.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Division, Colonel Sani Usman, the military said the directive implies that movement by animals (horses), bicycles, motorcycles, tricycles and motor vehicles are totally banned in the state during the period.
The restriction, the Army said, was informed by the need to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of law abiding citizens of Borno State throughout the period.
Usman urged the public to report any suspicious movement of persons or vehicles around their environments to the nearest security agencies.
