The Nigerian Army said on Thursday that it would continue to ensure prudent and transparent management of its financial resources for optimal result.
Colonel Adeniran Gbolagade, the Commander of the 7 Division Finance Corps, made this promise at the inauguration of the maiden Nigerian Army Finance Corps Training Week in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Gbolagade explained that the aim of the training was to enhance the skills of the personnel at the finance corps.
He said that the training was in line with the directive to equip NAFC personnel with necessary professional skills.
Gbolagade said that the training was to create an environment for the prudent and transparent application of financial resources towards a professionally responsive Nigerian Army.
Brigadier General Ibrahim Yusuf, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, said the training was a routine one aimed at ensuring continuous training for officers and men of the finance corps.
He said that the training was in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision of having a professionally responsive army in the discharge of its constitutional role.
Yusuf said: “I wish to congratulate the commanders of the Divisional Finance and Account for the 7 and 8 divisions for organising the training.”
