Aregbesola increases workers’ car packages
In line with its commitment to workers’ welfare, the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Osun State has approved a substantial increase in car refurbishment loans to its workers.
The increase is to the tune of 75 per cent on the existing package.
According to the Commissioner for Finance, Economic Planning and Budget, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, the upward review is the first of its kind since the founding of the state and indeed in all of the South West sub-region
Bolorunduro said the gesture was an affirmation of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the workers in the state.
According to Bolorunduro, this is in recognition of the central role the workers have to play in achieving the administration’s core goals.
The upswing in loan is all encompassing as it cut across all levels.
This means workers from Grade Level 1 to 17 would be entitled to the loan largesse.
Thus in the new loan regime, workers, who were previously entitled to N100,000 can now take up to N170,000
Those who are on N200,000 hitherto will now have access to N350,000.
Grade Level 17 workers’ car refurbishing loan entitlements has now been upped by N250,000 to N750,000 from the initial N500,000.
According to checks, the loan is to be paid back in 60 installments over five years.
Bolorunduro said: “The loan increment is a testimony to the fact that the Aregbesola Government actually is indeed very sensitive and responsive to workers’ welfare.
“He has their progress and development at heart and so he has demonstrated that his is a government of the people and welfare of the people is paramount to his government.”
Bolorunduro enjoined the workers to be mindful of the government’s gesture by doubling their efforts in their service to the state.
He urged them to return the good gestures of government by further strengthening their support of the administration’s endeavours to uplift the state.
