Mohammed Abdullahi, President of Nigeria Archery Federation, says the upcoming National Archery championship would serve as trials for the African championship in Egypt.
Abdullahi told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Abuja that over 50 athletes would participate in the national championship in Abuja.
He said: “We have sent invitations to some of the para-military agencies because they constitute the bulk of our athletes, as well as to states and clubs.
“Top athletes from the national championship billed for October will represent the country in Egypt in November.
“Our target is to compete favourably in Egypt and we are confident with the pedigree of athletes we have.”
Abdullahi added that the federation was still concluding preparations ahead of the championship.
