Solomon Arase has been confirmed as substantive Inspector General of Police, the Vanguard is reporting.
Arase, who was appointed in acting capacity upon the retirement of Suleiman Abba, was confirmed on Tuesday.
The confirmation was carried out at the Police Council meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.
The meeting was held immediately after the National Council of State meeting.
Arase hails from Edo State.
