The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has dislodged the Peoples Democratic Party from power after almost 16 unbroken years.
This follows the emergence of the APC’s candidate for Saturday’s election, Barrister Simon Lalong, as the governor of the state.
Lalong coasted to victory with 564,913 votes in a hard fought election.
His PDP rival, Senator G.N.S. Pwajok, scored 520,627 votes.
The result was announced in the wee hours of Monday.
