Two frontline players of Apa United Football Club of Otukpo, Benue State, are currently undergoing trials for possible engagement with a top ranking professional league club, VASBY FC Stockholom of Sweden.
They are Ameh Agada, 19, and Friday Idoko, 17.
They were accompanied by the Special Adviser to the President of the Senate on Sports and Youth Development, Dr. Peter Deshi, and the Director of Velletri Soccer Group INC of Sweden, Prince Jagun Ilori.
On leaving the shores of Nigeria, Deshi said the move is a result of talent hunt by the Swedish team, led the former Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Clemence Westerholf, to Otukpo last year.
Westerholf and his team were in Otukpo to observe the soccer tournament sponsored by the President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, as part of his efforts to develop sports, especially in the grass root.
Deshi called from Sweden to confirm that the Apa United lads have started training in high spirit.
He was optimistic that the boys, judging from their display so far, would be successful.
