Enyimba FC Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, has described former captain Chinedu Udoji as “special”, while enjoining the current playing staff of the team to aspire to his legacy.
Anyansi was visibly emotional on Thursday as he reminiscent on Udoji’s early days at the club.
According to him: “Chinedu (Udoji) is someone i’m very proud of. Seeing the reaction in Nigeria, you begin to understand what it means for someone to be special.
“He is a lesson to you all: use this career well, and it will lift you. Anybody can die, but your aim is to be remembered like Chinedu. He left an impact on the hearts of everyone.”
Anyansi however pledged the total support to the deceased family.
“As long as I remain the Chairman, Enyimba will play a big role to his family development. A very big role,” he vowed.
Meanwhile, the Board of Nigeria Football Federation member tasks the Peoples Elephant not to underrate their opponents, Energie FC in Round of 32 tie of the CAF Confederation Cup next month.
Anyansi warned against any form of complacency ahead of the tie.
