Senator Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) has been nominated as the 2023 award recipient by an NGO, ‘’The Initiative Against Addiction and Substance Abuse in Nigeria (IAASAN)’’.

This is contained in a letter signed by Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe, IAASAN Board of Trustees Chairman, issued on Friday to newsmen in Sokoto by Malam Bashar Abubakar, Wamakko’s Spokesman.

The letter said that the organisation decided to confer on Wamakko the IAASAN Ambassador for North West Anti Drug Award 2023, following a random public survey conducted by its field officers.

“Wamakko was recognised for his outstanding performance to humanity and philanthropic endeavour which were in tandem with the organisation’s mandate and objectives.

“However, the award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the forthcoming IAASAN/Nigeria Army North West Anti-Drug and Narcotics Control Conference 2023,” it said.

The organization, therefore, congratulated the former governor of Sokoto State (Sen. Wamakko) for the award and wished him all the best in the discharge of his duty.
