Another boat on Saturday capsized in Lagos State leaving no fewer than two persons dead.
The accident comes exactly one week after a similar incident in which eight persons died.
The latest accident occurred around Badagry.
Eight out of the 10 passengers onboard the boat had been rescued as at press time.
But two persons – the boat driver and a female passenger – were still missing.
The lady was said to have boarded the boat at the Idagba area.
The boat, conveying 10 passengers from Idagba to Iworo, capsised when it ran into a log of wood.
The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency for the South West, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident.
Farinloye said emergency workers were despatched to the scene immediately information was received.
He said: “Unlike the previous incident, which was caused by sand dredgers, this incident happened because the boat hit a log and capsized, upturning its passengers into the water.”
