Anichebe set to bounce back

Sunderland’s survival hopes could be handed a boost as Victor Anichebe closes in on a return from a knee injury.
The Nigeria international has been sidelined for the last two months, with his last appearance coming in the 2-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion on January 21.
Sunderland have slipped to the bottom of the Premier League standings in the 28-year-old’s absence and they are now seven points adrift of safety following a run of one win in their last 11 top-flight games.
However, Anichebe, who played a major role in Sunderland’s run of four wins in seven matches before Christmas, is now in line for a return to the first-team fold, with the forward having an outside chance of featuring against Watford at Vicarage Road this weekend.
Sunderland face a potentially pivotal run of fixtures in April as, following the match with the Hornets, they face games against Leicester, Manchester United, West Ham, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth before the month is out.
