A man who is suspected to be mad, Lekan Adebisi, has offered reasons why he killed two pupils of St. John’s Anglican Primary School, Agodo, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The suspected madman, revealed this when he spoke with newsman at the headquarters of the Ogun State Police Command in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Adebisi attacked and killed Mubarak Kalesowo and Sunday Obituyi on Monday while they were observing their lunch break.
Speaking with newsmen on Thursday when he was paraded by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, Adebisi said he killed the two pupils when he could not get food to eat.
He said when he had money, he provided food for others.
The suspected madman, who said he was not married, gave his age as 28.
He said he used to organise private lessons for children and charged N20 per child.
Adebis said: “I did not eat for two weeks and I went out to beg other people for money.
“Nobody gave me money.
“When I had money, I took care of family members, friends and even outsiders.
“It was due to frustration.
“When hunger gripped me and it became unbearable, I thought of my life and concluded that it was a bad life.
“Then I grabbed a machete.
“I was prepared to face the consequence.”
