Liverpool of England star, Luis Suarez, Edin Cavani and old war horse, Diego Forlan, have been listed for Thursday night’s Confederation Cup Group B clash between Uruguay and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Everyone knows about Uruguayan striker, Suarez, and after his goal in the 88th minute against Spain in his team’s opening match, there’s no doubt he’s the star that Oscar Tabarez will count on the most if Uruguay is to keep hope alive for a semifinal bid.
But it’s Cavani who needs to find a way to help his counterpart if Uruguay wants to avoid an embarrassing disappointment at the Confederation Cup.
Others in the Uruguay starting line up are Muslera, Lugano, Godin, Rodriguez, Pereira, Arevalo, Gonzalez and Caceres.
On the other hand, Super Eagles’ Coach, Stephen Keshi, has handed Sporting Coimbra of Portugal, John Ogu, his first ever start since earning a national team call in April.
The lanky player replaces Sunday Mba.
Other players that will be starting the game for Nigeria are Vincent Enyeama, Elderson Echiejile, Efe Ambrose, Kenneth Omeruo, Godfrey Oboabona, Mikel Obi, Fegor Ogude, Ahmed Musa, Brown Ideye and Nnamdi Oduamadi.
