The volume of shares traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange increased by 524.08 million as trading activities remained on the upward trend.
The transactions appreciated by 524.08 million shares as investors bought 737.32 million shares worth N6.7 billion traded in 5,038 deals.
This is in contrast to 213.24 million shares valued at N3.2 billion traded in 5,815 deals on Wednesday.
UBA Plc was the toast of investors with 492.43 million shares worth N4.11 billion.
UB-Capital came second with 28.67 million shares valued at N32.08 million, while Zenith Bank accounted for 20.01 million shares worth N409.09 million.
The All- Share Index appreciated by 199.26 basis points or 0.53 per cent to close at 37,327.66 as against 37,128.40 recorded on Wednesday.
The market capitalisation, which opened at N11.758 trillion, appreciated by N63 billion or 0.53 per cent to close at N11.821 trillion.
Julius Berger led the gainers’ chart with N3.52 to close at N70.02 per share.
Nigerian Breweries followed with N1.56 to close at N163.56 per share, while MRS grew by N1.20 to close at N19 per share.
PZ Cussons appreciated by N1.01 to close at N40.01, while NASCON rose by 99k to close at N13.49 per share.
Okomu Oil recorded the highest price loss of N1.40 to close at N46.60 per share.
Portpaint trailed with 29k to close at N6.10 per share, while May &Baker dropped by 26k to close at N2.44 per share.
Transexpress’ share price depreciated by 25k to close at N2.46, while livestock lost 10k to close at N4.72 per share.
