Sunshine Stars of Akure came from two goals down to win 3-2 over Warri Wolves and it was former Shooting Stars’ Kingsley Eduwo who ensured Akure fans savour their first victory at home.
Warri Wolves made instant statement as they registered the first goal in just the fourth minute when a curling shot by Josiah Maduabuchi beat goalkeeper Ezenwa Ikechukwu. Wolves led for the break.
On resumption, Sunshine introduced Alaba Adeniyi and that galvanised the home team’s attack as he combined with Eduwo and Dele Olorundare but the defensive pair of Egwuekwe Azubuike and Ike Thankgod curtailed their several incursions.
But Eduwo leveled scores in the 58th minute.
Former Golden Eaglet, Michael Egbeta, restored Wolves lead in the 68th minute only for Olorundare to make it 2-2 with four minutes to regulation time.
The referee gave six minutes added time and with two minutes remaining, Eduwo nodded in the winner for the Akure Gunners.
