Slovakia committed to ensuring the sustainability of the economic ties with Nigeria through strategic investment in key sectors, especially trade.”
Peter Holasek, Slovakia Ambassador, said his country will develop strong, trade and investment links.
Bilaterally, he said, Slovakia trades with Nigeria, which still has big potential to increase, especially in the energy and agriculture sectors.
Holasek said: “We are in the process of creation of necessary legal infrastructure to make our relations including economic and trade ones more effective and in harmony with standards of the organisations we are members of.
“We are very much interested in partnering with Nigeria and there is a big potential on both sides.
“Our relations with Nigeria are generally linked with our membership in the EU.
“They are mainly guided with subjects which maintain the way to the Africa-Europe partnership and contribute to a model of relations that, we wish, would be beneficial for both countries.”
NAN reports the volume of bilateral trade between Slovakia and Nigeria is 30 million euros.
