Several prominent Nigerians on Saturday gathered in Omu-Aran, Kwara State to bid farewell to a former Governor of Kwara State and elder statesman, Brigadier General David Bamigboye.
A Service of Song was on Thursday held for the elder statesman by the Kwara State Government.
On Saturday, the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, described Bamigboye as the administrator who laid the foundation for the state.
Ahmed said: “He was a gallant officer, committed statesman, a bridge-builder, and administrator who laid the foundation for Kwara State.”
Among those who attended the funeral service for the youngest and longest serving governor of Kwara State were former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon; former Kwara State Governor and President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki; ex-Governor and Senator, Alhaji Shaaba Lafiagi; former Governor of Kwara State, C. O. Adebayo; General Alani Akinrinade; General Alabi Isama; Brigadier General Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and Founder of Winner’s Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.
