Onazi donates boots to Eaglets, assures Nigerians on World Cup ticket

SC Lazio of Italy star, Ogenyi Eddy Onazi, has promised two pairs of customised boots to each member of the victorious Golden Eaglets team as part of their reward for lifting the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Onazi, a member of the silver winning team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria in 2009, believes the idea was aimed at encouraging the players to further aspire for more glory.
His words: “The players have done so well for themselves and the country and they should be encouraged. So, I will be giving them two pairs each of customised Lotto Italia boots.”
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles’ midfielder has assured Nigerians that the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia will not go unhurt this weekend in the second leg of the Brazil 2014 World Cup Play Off in Calabar, Cross Rivers.
Onazi said: “As players in the team, we all know the responsibility that we have and everyone has tightened his belt and just waiting for Saturday to come and give it our best shot.
“We’ll depend on God to see us through the game and get qualification against Ethiopia but we’ll surely do our own homework on the pitch.”
Nigeria won the first leg by 2-1 in Addis Ababa.
