The exchange of words between Senator Victor Umeh, who is representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, and the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, deepened as the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance threatened to release the agreement Okorocha signed with Chief Martins Agbaso before he became governor to the media.
Umeh had asked God to forgive him and other members of APGA for making Okorocha the governor of Imo State in 2011, saying he never knew that he would turn out to be a pain in the neck of his people.
Okorocha in statement said Umeh has turned himself into an interesting spectator in the Senate.
Umeh in his response while addressing newsmen said Okorocha is a trickster who fought everybody that helped him to become governor.
Umeh said: “Before he emerged as candidate, there was an agreement between Agbaso and Okorocha, where Okorocha dictated terms of that agreement.
“He conceded the leadership of the party to Chief Agbaso and he also said that Agbaso should nominate the Deputy and he nominated his younger brother, Jude Agbaso.
“He changed the whole thing along the line.
“He impeached that Deputy Governor who came on the agreement he dictated the term.
“Along the line, he left APGA and went away.
“It is very heartbreaking for me to see a man who came in very humbly answering me ‘Yes sir’ and started bullying everybody.
“He removed his deputy.
“He is a complete trickster and I can’t waste my energy on him.
“He is already a drowning man.
“He is a sinking ship in Imo State.
“He wants to make his son-law governor to succeed him.
“This son-in-law was Deputy Chief of Staff when his Deputy Governor was Chief of Staff.
“Along the line, he married Okorocha’s daughter.”
Okorocha and Umeh’s war of words was as result of the impeachment plot against the Deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere.
