A police station under the Kano State Police Command, Rijiya Zaki Police Station, has been cordoned off after suspected members of Boko Haram attacked it earlier today.
Information has it that a combined police and military team has cordoned off the police station.
The members of Boko Haram had taken the police team at the station by surprise when they launched a gun attack.
The officers and men on duty at the time reportedly fled from their attackers, abandoning the station.
No casualty was reported.
Police stations in Kano have come under the attack of Boko Haram since January this year.
In one of such attacks in January, which was also extended to the offices of the State Security Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service, about 200 persons were confirmed killed.
