Kudus Lawal,11, will be grateful to God all his life for escaping the claws of suspected kidnappers.
The wild jubilation over his escape from death has not ended as his parents’ house at Ajegunle area of Lagos State has been turned into a Mecca as there have been a party and dozens of visitors to have a glimpse of the lad.
An elated Kudus could not hold back tears when he narrated how three men in a black vehicle abducted him in front of his parents’ house on Barra Street, Aiyetoro in Ajegunle on Monday.
Narrating the kidnap saga, Kudus said: “I woke up on Monday like any other day and decided to ease myself in front of the house.
“This was about 5.20am.
“Immediately I started easing myself, three men in a black car parked in front of me and one of them got down and whisked me into the car.
“I was shocked and confused but they held me tight and said if I shouted, they will kill me.
“hey started driving fast.
“I noticed that there were others boys of my age grade in the car.
“We were scared.
“But when we got on the bridge, they allowed two of us to get down and they took the others, about three of them, away.”
Kudus’ parents after they noticed he was missing, got neighbours and friends together to search for him.
After their desperate search did not yield any result, they reported the case to the police at the Ajegunle Police Station and they went back home to pray.
Shortly after, Kudus said he called his parents’ mobile number and told them he was abducted but his abductors had let him go.
He said: “I told my parents that they pushed me and one other boy out of the car and we were on top of a bridge.
“My parents were very happy.
“They told me to ask people around what the name of the bridge I was dropped on was and that was how I learnt it was Eko Bridge.
“My parents told me to take okada (commercial motorcycle) to bring me home.
“So that was how I got to my house.
“Everybody was happy.
“I think it is God that saved me.
“The men who kidnapped us said I and the other boy they let go have strong spirit so they cannot use us for ritual.
“I am happy to be alive and I pray the police arrest these evil men and rescue those other boys.”
