Femi Kuti, the son of the late Abami Eda, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has earned himself a fourth Grammy Awards nomination. The Afro-Beat legend’s name was among the name was unveiled on Friday as a nominee.
The prestigious award enters its 56th edition in 2014.
Kuti, making the nomination list this year, will be his fourth time.
He was first nominated in 2003 and also in 2010 and 2012.
In all the past nominations, Kuti has never won after making the history.
He is being categorized under World Music alongside Gipsy Kings, Ladysmith, Black Mambazo and Ravi Shankar.
The awards hold in the United States of America, on January 26, 2014.
