Former National Publicity Secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, will on Monday declare his intention to contest the Ekiti State 2014 governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to a statement issued by the Director General, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the event will begin at the state secretariat of the PDP at 10am where a Letter of Intent will be submitted.
Kolawole said the PAAM campaign office in Ado-Ekiti will be formally declared open after the submission of letter of intent at the party secretariat.
He said the event will be attended by prominent leaders of the PDP from across the 16 local government areas of the state as well all states in the country.
Kolawole said: “Prince Dayo Adeyeye’s decision to throw his hat into the ring and vie for the governorship ticket of our party, the PDP, is borne out of our collective desire to save our state, Ekiti, from governance by deceit and credit, which the present government in the state represents.
“We believe that Prince Dayo Adeyeye has the capacity to govern Ekiti State responsibly and harness all its human and natural resources without plunging the state into unwarranted debt.
“It is also our belief that the governor Ekiti people desire at this time is one who has the capability to offer real governance, not governance by deceit and credit that is being witnessed in the state now.”
