The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has expressed confidence over the competence of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to ensure better life for the people of the state through the administration’s shared prosperity programme.
Sulu-Gambari said this on Friday when he received Ahmed, who paid him a sympathy and solidarity visit at the palace over the recent fire outbreak, which gutted the Emir’s reception Hall.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is the Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, said the determination of Ahmed to ensure accelerated development of the state is highly commendable just as he assured the governor that everything would be done to ensure the success of his administration.
The Emir acknowledged the giant stride of the governor, especially in executing projects that would add value to the lives of the people, adding: “I have no doubt in your ability to rule this Kwara State peacefully. I have no doubt in your ability to leave remarkable traits of development after your tenure”.
Ahmed said his administration would continue to partner with the Emir of Ilorin and the traditional rulers in the state in strengthening peace.
Ahmed noted that all stakeholders must work for the sustenance of peace adding “These are trying times in Nigeria. The only strength that can drive growth and development is for all to work for the sustenance of peace.”
