In commemoration of his 70th birthday, popular juju crooner turned gospel musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has relayed his plans to release a new album on the April 3, 2012.
In a telephone interview, Obey-Fabiyi stated that the much anticipated album will shake the roots of the Nigerian music landscape.
Preparations are however in top gear for the April 3, 1942 born gospel composer and singer to mark his birthday.
The celebration party, which is being put together by the musician’s committee of friends, has an array of activities to celebrate the music idol.
Coming from close sources, an authorised autobiography and documentation in the form of a documentary, one which has been commissioned, should be ready for public presentation during the reception slated to come up in Lagos on April 3, 2012.
Another programmed in honour of his late wife has been put together.
The event, which coincides with the singer’s late wife’s birthday, is the commissioning of Idogo Town Hall, to be dedicated and handed over to the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on March 23, 2012.
The public presentation of Obey’s autobiography and TV documentary/thanksgiving service is to follow on April 3, 2012, alongside a reception.
Dignitaries across the length and breadth of the country are expected to grace the occasion.
