The Independent National Electoral Commission has continued with the announcement of results of Saturday’s governorship election at its Osun State headquarters in Osogbo.
As reported earlier by The Eagle Online, the official announcement of the results at the state level began at about 2:30am.
As at press time at 5:11am, the results of seven out of the State’s 30 local government areas had been released.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was in the lead as at press time, having taken five out of the seven local governments so far announced.
The All Progressives Congress, with Gboyega Oyetola as its flag bearer, had two out of the seven local governments.
At the local government level, earlier published by The Eagle Online, Oyetola was leading in 10, while Adeleke had seven.
The 18th local government result released after the initial 17 published by The Eagle Online showed it was won by Adeleke.
