The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, will defend the N143 billion elections budget in A closed door session with lawmakers, The Eagle Online is reporting.
The Joint National Assembly Panel on INEC fixed Tuesday for INEC to present a fresh N143 billion elections budget after the adoption of President Muhammadu Buhari’s request.
However, the lawmakers, after consultations agreed to meet the INEC boss behind closed door to consider the budget.
The reason for the closed door meeting is not yet fully known, but The Eagle Online discovered that some of the items in the INEC request have nothing to do with 2019 general elections.
