An Ejigbo High Court in Osun State has restrained the police and its agents from arresting or detaining the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saturday’s election in the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Justice A. A. Aderibigbe issued the order following application by Adeleke.
In a court order issued in a motion ex-parte on Thursday, the judge ordered that the police should not take any action that will infringe on the liberty and freedom of the applicant to prepare for and participate in the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday and thereafter pending the determination of the substantive application.
The respondents include the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for Osun State Command.
The case has been adjourned to September 27, 2018.
