The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has signed into law the 2019 Appropriation Bill of N400.3 billion for the state, with an assurance that the budget will not only be on paper but also adequately funded.
Speaking after the signing, held at the conference room, Governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta kn Monday, Amosun thanked the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, and members of the state House of Assembly for their support to his government as well as the Ministry of Budget and Planning for successful preparation of the budget.
He noted that all through the tenure of his government, “our budget has always been presented on time, considered on time by the House and signed into law on time”, adding that it was a demonstration that “we have not taken our people for granted.”
The governor, while reviewing the budget preparation and implementation by his administration, said it has performed well, expressing optimism that the next government will improve on it’s performance.
Adekunbi, who had earlier presented the clean copy of the budget to Amosun in company of members of the House of Assembly, stated that the Legislative arm had been effectively playing its roles in supporting the Amosun administration, appreciating members of the House and stakeholders for appropriate budget management.
