The remains of former Super Eagles’ handler, Amodu Shuaibu, has been laid to rest in his hometown, Okpella in Edo State, on Saturday, according to Islamic rites.
Shuaibu, 58, was committed to mother earth amid tears by mourners who had besieged the soccer tactician’s home in Okpella.
The four-time Super Eagles coach was said to have complained of chest pains on Friday night and died in his sleep.
Shuaibu was the Technical Director of the Nigerian Football Federation.
He was survived by an aged mother and five children – Mariam, Ahmed, Suleiman, Sefiat and Nafisat.
The NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, who led a delegation, which included NFF’s Assistant Director (Technical), Abdulrafiu Yusuf; and Head of Psychology, Robinson Okosun, to Amodu’s hometown, said: “This is most shocking.
“We are yet to recover from the death of Stephen Keshi.”
