The utility player, who starred as right back, was in action for the entire 90 minutes of the pulsating tie.
Craig Curran gave Owen Coyle’s side an early advantage.
However Hibernian quickly hit-back through Anthony Stokes.
Youngster Oli Shaw secured all three points with his third senior goal of the season with just 16 minutes remaining.
The visitors opened the scoring with their first effort on goal in the 14th minute when Craig Eagles cross from the left was diverted into the net via a deflection by Curran.
Ross County’s lead lasted only six minutes as the home side hit back. Boyle whipped a fantastic delivery into the middle of the penalty area where Stokes rose above his marker to headed powerfully into the net off the post.
Hibernian would continue to dominate after the break with John McGinn going close with an early shot from distance.
Hibs were turning up the pressure on their opponents with goalkeeper Fox keeping his side in the match with a string of super saves.
Hibernian were beginning to find gaps in the Ross County defensive line and the intense pressure on the visiting goal was only increasing.
Shaw headed an Ambrose cross straight at Fox before the County keeper produced a stunning fingertip saving to deny a curling shot from Stokes that appeared destined for the far top corner.
Hibernian’s relentless pressure eventually paid off when Barker once more got beyond Marcus Fraser before driving a cross into the near post where it was diverted into the County net by Shaw.
Even after the goal the Easter Road side appeared the most likely to score next with Boyle’s powerful shot pushed round the post by Fox before Stokes’ deflected effort was held by the County stopper.
